The Sanctuary
On just one Sunday in four, a regular service
of worship is held here and the room swells to
the sound of hymn tunes accompanied by the
fine pipe organ. For the rest of the month this
excellent space is available to the wider local
community.
In 1997, when the building was redesigned for
its role in the 21st century, the acoustics of the
Sanctuary were greatly improved making it
one of the best halls in the area for music and
lectures. There is a basic sound system,
complete with induction loop to assist those
with suitable hearing aids. Additional sound
equipment can be added by arrangement.
The fine oak Cross adorning the north wall
may be easily demounted to provide a
projection area for visual presentations.
Equipped with a silent under-floor central
heating system and with a seating capacity of
one hundred and fifty people, this light and
tranquil space is the ideal venue for large
meetings, exhibitions and recitals. The
beautiful screen doors can be folded back to
open up to the smaller hall and provide
further space if required.
The Sanctuary has its own access to a fully
equipped kitchenette, storage and toilets.
